Why Join the I.B.M.?
Joining the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) offers numerous benefits that cater to both professional magicians and enthusiastic hobbyists. One of the primary reasons to join is the unparalleled access to magic education. This affiliation opens doors to local meetings, conventions, and a supportive community that fosters growth and collaboration. Lastly, the I.B.M. offers valuable travel and insurance benefits, including group-rate insurance programs and discounts on car rentals. These perks make membership not only enriching but also cost-effective.
Symbolism of the Emblem
International Emblem
The emblem of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) is rich with symbolism. The globe in the background represents the worldwide reach of our organization, uniting magicians from 88 countries. At the center, Mercury, the ancient messenger of the gods and a magician himself, holds a wand in his left hand, symbolizing the magical arts. The intertwined letters I.B.M. at the bottom stand for UNITY and COOPERATION among magicians. The oak leaf signifies strength, while the two acorns represent the Eastern and Western hemispheres. Clasped hands illustrate the FELLOWSHIP and BROTHERHOOD that bind our members together in the world of magic.
Each element of the emblem has been thoughtfully chosen to reflect the core values of the I.B.M. The globe signifies our global community, Mercury embodies the spirit of magic, and the oak leaf and acorns denote our strength and widespread influence. The clasped hands are a powerful reminder of the camaraderie and mutual support that define our organization. Together, these symbols encapsulate the essence of the I.B.M.—a unified, strong, and supportive brotherhood of magicians.
